Obituary of Ernestine P. Brown

Ernestine P. "Pat" Brown 65, of Eagle Street, passed away Friday evening at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam with her loving family at her side. She was born March 4, 1943 in the Bronx, New York. Pat was the daughter of the late Jimmy and Anna Mae Jones Anthanio. She was raised in the Bronx and was a high school graduate and later she moved to Brooklyn where she lived for 50 years. Pat moved to Amsterdam in 2006. Pat was a homemaker. She was devoted to her faith and her church, the Lovely Hill Baptist Church in Brooklyn. Pat enjoyed cooking for her family and loved to take care of her home. She provided shelter in her home for the less fortunate; Pat was an excellent seamstress and had a great sense of humor. In 1960 she married Wilbert A. Brown who died in 1985. Survivors include a son, Christopher A. Brown of Amsterdam; a daughter Tammie Harold Johnson of Rensselaer, NY; two brothers, Kenneth Anthanio of Long Island, NY and Bruce Anthanio of Bronx, NY; two sisters, Lorraine DeFasso of Pennsylvania and Sharon Anthanio of Marilyn; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at 2:00 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with Vincent Cresanti presiding. Cremation will take place at the Vale Crematory in Schenectady. Calling period will be from 1:30 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
