Obituary of Fernanda Foggia

Fernanda Foggia, 95, of Isabella Street, Rotterdam Junction, passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Thursday, February 26, 2009. Born on October 4, 1913 in Supino, Italy she was the daughter of Nazareno Foggia and Assunta Brandolini. She was educated in Italy, and immigrated to the United States in May of 1968. Fernanda was a homemaker and worked for many years at Luigi's Restaurant in Schenectady until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and keeping in touch with her friends. She was a woman of faith, who had a strong work ethic and loved her family dearly. Her loving family includes, her only daughter, Maria Bianca Bianchi of Rome, Italy; her two grandsons, Fabio Troiani and his fiancé Toniann Loehr of Rotterdam Junction and Fulvio Troiani and his wife Anna Gaber of Rome, Italy; several brothers and sister also survive in Italy. A prayer service will be conducted on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 10 o'clock at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 o'clock at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam with Rev. John Medwid as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Amsterdam. Relatives and friends may call Saturday morning from 9 until 10 at the funeral home. Contributions in her memory may be made to Community Hospice of Amsterdam or St. Margaret of Cortona Roman Catholic Church, both in care of the funeral home office.
