Obituary of Eleanor L. Peryer

Mrs. Eleanor L. Peryer, 91, of Hagaman Ave, Amsterdam, NY, passed away peacefully Friday March 6th, 2009 at the E. L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility with her husband Wesley and all three daughters lovingly at her bed side. Born in Amsterdam on November 15th, 1917, a daughter of Charles and Emma Gibeau Austin. She was a lifelong resident of the Amsterdam area and was a graduate of St. Mary's Institute in Amsterdam. Mrs. Peryer was formerly employed by Haber Lingerie and Chief Textiles of Amsterdam. She was a communicant of St. Stephen's Church in Hagaman. She was a member of the Club 60 of St. Mary's Hospital and the Hagaman and Perth Seniors. Eleanor was a true lady always looking for the good in everyone. She lovingly offered encouragement to her whole family, quietly and proudly listening to all of the family's adventures. She was married to Wesley A. Peryer for over 67 years. They were married on June 28, 1941. In addition to her husband survivor's include three daughters, Janet L. Hutton and her husband Ronald of Bear, Delaware, Carol A. Cuyler and her husband Gary of Amsterdam, and Pamela M. Tyler of Epping, New Hampshire. Eight grandchildren, James Magdeline Hutton, Eric Jessica Hutton, John Cuyler, Jennifer and Thomas Cuyler, Jody Tyler, Tabitha Gabe Szczepanic and Danielle Tyler. Ten great-grandchildren, Hannah, Caleb and Joshua Hutton, Minerva Regaspi, John, Andrew and Katherine Rose Hutton, Willow Tyler, Austin Leach, Lilianna Tyler and Mackenzie Szczepanik. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Eleanor was predeceased by a sister Irma Doak in 2003. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday March 9th, 2009 at 11:30A.M. at St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church, Pawling St., Hagaman, NY with Rev. Martin DeRose as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ft. Johnson, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday beginning at 10:30 A.M. at St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church, Pawling St. Hagaman. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Foundation, 43 Liberty Drive, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
