Obituary of Joyce A. Mulhall

Mrs. Joyce A. Mulhall, age 71 of Gloversville, died Wednesday morning, March 18, 2009 at Mountain Valley Hospice, Gloversville. She was born January 6, 1938 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Edward and Mildred Rowback Gordon. She was employed as a Registered Nurse for many years by the Fulton County Nursing Service and Mountain Valley Hospice. Operating as "JTB Bears" Joyce made bears and angels from clothing of deceased persons to be used as momentos for their families. Mrs. Mulhall was a member of Sacred Heart Church and was a former Brownie and Girl Scout Leader. She had also belonged to bowling leagues in the area. Joyce was married on June 26, 1957 to Robert R. Mulhall, Sr. who died July 10, 1979. She is survived by five children, Robert R. Mulhall, Jr. Lisa of Gloversville, Susan C. Parmenter Duncan of Northville, Debra A. Small Mark of Amsterdam, Cathy L. Mulhall of Gloversville and Scott T. Mulhall Kristy of Johnstown; six brothers and sisters, Harold Gordon Ellen of Gloversville, Eleanor Countryman of Indiana, Albert Gordon of Gloversville, Audrey Godes John of California, Janice VanDeWalker and Gloria Pazzaglia Rick of Johnstown; a half-sister, Terri Gordon VanDyke; three grandchildren, Amanda Small, Patrick Small and Jamie Lyn Mulhall; two great-grandchildren, Joseph Dolcemascolo and Alyssa Dolcemascolo; her pet dog Bailey; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Gordon and a sister, Beatrice Melucci. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Church, Gloversville, with the Very Rev. Donald Czelusniak as celebrant. Cremation will follow at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady.
