Obituary of Harry B. Cohn
Harry B. Cohn, 76, of Village Lane East, Amsterdam, died peacefully, Thursday March 19, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital following a brief illness. Born on March 23, 1932 in New York City he was the son of the late Harry and Anna Cortlaing Cohn. He was educated in New York City schools and received his GED.
Harry worked as a cabinet maker most of his life. He retired in 1994 from Universal Custom Millwork in Amsterdam due to disability. He enjoyed dancing, listening to music and playing cards at Turning Stone. He also loved to travel with his wife in their RV cross country. One of his favorite activities was fishing, especially at Emerald Isle in North Carolina while on vacation.
His loving family includes his wife, the former Dolores Fariello; his step- son, James Geiger of Amsterdam; a brother, Al Cohn and his wife Marta of Schenectady; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister Gloria Langenbach.
At Harry's request services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider Community Hospice of Amsterdam or the American Lung Association in care of the funeral home office.
