Obituary of Genevieve K. Freer

Mrs. Genevieve K. Freer, 77 years old of Main Street, died Saturday at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. She was born August 1, 1931, in Amsterdam, a daughter of Felix and Katherine Van Voast Kowalski and was a life long resident of Rotterdam Junction. Mrs. Freer was a life member of the Woestina Reformed Church. She enjoyed her time with family and was a concerned and giving person when it came to her family and friends. Genevieve married Richard M. Freer on September 20, 1951 at the Old Cobblestone Church in Rotterdam. He predeceased her on March 23, 1983. She is survived by four sons; Raymond R. Freer of Newport, Rhode Island, David B. Freer of Rotterdam Jct., Brian K. Cynthia Freer of Saratoga Springs and Scott O. Freer of Rotterdam Jct., her sister; Rose Kowalski of Amsterdam, her sister-in law; Janet Charles Polumbo, four grandchildren; Eric, Michael, Jarod and Kiley Freer, nieces and cousins. Genevieve was predeceased by two brothers Frank and David Kowalski. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Tuesday at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, with The Rev. Kent McHeard officiating. Burial will be in Woestina Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 5:00 until 7:00pm at the funeral home.
