Obituary of Bertha A. Minckler
Bertha A. Minckler, 71, died Monday March 23, 2009 at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville.
She was born in Gloversville on May 2, 1937 the daughter of the late Leroy and Mary Tubbs Seelow.
She was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church. She was a past president of the former Mt. Carmel School Board and was also a former 4-H leader. For twenty-five years she was self-employed as a hairdresser. Bertha then worked as an agent for Joyce Royal Realty.
Bertha had a love for music. Just a month ago, she enjoyed seeing her favorite performer, Tom Jones, with her granddaughter and daughter-in-law. At home, she never parted with her clicker. She was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first great-grandson, Marcus Andrew Norton, due in July.
Bertha married her husband, Allen Minckler on July 31, 1964, he survives. Other survivors include her son Marc Norton Charlene; her daughter, Stacey White Harley all of Gloversville; a sister, Elaine Minckler of Alabama and her grandchildren: Marcus fiance Amanda and Kelsey Norton of Gloversville.
There will be a funeral service on Thursday March 26, 2009 at 1pm from Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, with the Very Rev. Donald Czelusniak presiding. Memorial donations may be made to Nathan Littauer Respiratory Care, 99 East State St., Gloversville, NY 12078.
