Obituary of Robert Edward Sprague

Robert Edward "Bobby" Sprague Jr. 57, of State Highway 30, passed away Wednesday morning at the Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville after a long illness. Born June 19, 1951 in Ticonderoga, New York, he was the son of the late Robert Edward and Katherine Virginia Baker Sprague Sr. He attended Schroon Lake Central School in Schroon Lake, New York and was a resident of Amsterdam and Perth for a number of years. Bobby was employed as a maintenance person for various companies throughout the Capital district. Survivors include a daughter, Connie Stahl of Watertown, NY; a life companion Rose Surnear of Amsterdam; two sisters, Roberta Lajeunesse of Waterford, NY and Linda Luriel of Clifton Park, NY; one brother, Howard Baker of Watervielet, NY and grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother Richard Sprague. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 10, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy park Avenue, Amsterdam with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. Cremation will follow at the Vale Crematory in Schenectady. A calling hour will be held on Friday from 12PM to 1 PM at the funeral home.
