Obituary of Antonio F. Ricciardi

Mr. Antonio F. Ricciardi, Jr. "Frankie" passed away April 13, 2009 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY, due to complications sustained from a car accident on November 8, 2008. Born in Gloversville on February 17, 1952, he is the son of Loretta Peluso Ricciardi and the late Antonio F. Ricciardi, Sr. Frankie was a graduate of the New York State School for the Deaf in Rome, NY. He worked for White Mop Wringer Co. in Fultonville for 34 years, from the time he graduated until the closing of the business. An avid collector, he especially enjoyed collecting baseball cards. He loved animals and took his dog everywhere. Frankie was a sports fan and devoted to baseball and NASCAR. An accomplished artist, he created many abstract pictures and worked meticulously at small wood working projects. Most of all, he enjoyed people and being around family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his mother, of Fultonville, he is survived by a sister, Sophie Gary Cole of Fultonville and a brother, Alexander Bobbi Ricciardi of Mayfield. He is also survived by nieces: Melissa Buanno, Brittany Cole and Ereka Meher and a nephew, Derek Ricciardi, as well as great nieces, Zaye and Laine Buanno and Paige Meher who was born the same day Frankie passed away. Additional survivors include aunts, uncles and cousins. A prayer service will be held 9:15 am Saturday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville; at 10 am a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church in Gloversville with Reverend Donald Czelusniak, Pastor, as celebrant. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4-7 pm. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville with a Balloon Release Tribute.
