Obituary of Norma N. Bagdan

Mrs. Norma N. Bagdan, 89, of Consaul Road, Amsterdam NY, has gone to her eternal rest on Thursday, March 9, 2017, with her loving family by her side. Born on November 5, 1927 in Amsterdam NY, she was the daughter of the late Mary Vitulis and Raymond Palilunas. Norma attended local schools and married the love of her life Joseph Bagdan in 1944. It was a beautiful union that lasted until his passing on September 8th, 1993. Norma was a homemaker and she also assisted her husband in the day to day operations of their dairy farm; A business that has been passed down to her family. She was also a member of the Altar Rosary Society of St. Casimir's Church. Norma is survived by her son Robert J. (Florence) Bagdan; her sister Phyllis Penman; her grandchildren, Robert Bagdan, Kevin (Lisa) Bagdan, and Dr. Paul (Kathleen) Bagdan; and her great grandchildren Kaylee, Samuel, and Luke Bagdan. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph and her parents Mary and Raymond Palilunas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday March 13th, 2017 at 11am at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 51 N Pawling Street, Hagaman NY, with Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis as Celebrant. Burial will immediately follow at St. Casimir's Cemetery, Widow Susan Road, Amsterdam, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, March 13th, 2017 from 10 - 11am at the church. A memorial contribution may be made in Norma's honor to the Amen Soup Kitchen at Luke's Lutheran Church, 24 Pine Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
