Obituary of Alexander R. Martuscello
Alex was born on January 29, 1994 in Guatemala City, Guatemala, the son of Daniel Martuscello. He was a graduate of St. Mary's Institute in Amsterdam. He attended Bishop Gibbons High School in Schenectady where he played football his Freshman year. He later graduated from Amsterdam High School.
Growing up he played Little League Baseball, CYO Basketball, and Amsterdam Little Giants Football. He also was an altar server at St. Mary's Church in Amsterdam where he was a communicant.
He loved being outdoors and enjoyed riding four wheelers and snowmobiles with his siblings, family and friends. He looked forward every year to the traditional family vacation in Maine. He loved fishing with his cousin Mikey. He was very creative and loved to take things apart and put them back together and also loved to draw. Alex was appreciative to others. He was respectful to his former coaches, teachers and any other adults he came into contact with.
Alex is survived by his father Daniel V. Martuscello. A sister, Dulce T. Martuscello of Saratoga Springs, NY. and brother, Lucas D. Martuscello of Hagaman, NY. He is also survived by his loving grandparents, Daniel G. and Sheila Martuscello of Amsterdam. Dear aunts and uncles, Michael (Cindy) Martuscello of Amsterdam, NY, Michele (Michael) Murphy of Saratoga, NY, Kevin (Terri) Martuscello of Saratoga, NY, and Katie (Tony) DeRosa of Amsterdam. Great- aunts and great-uncles, cousins and many friends also survive.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday March 14, 2017 at 11:15 A.M. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 156 East Main St. Amsterdam with Father Jeffrey L'Arche and Alex's great-great-uncle, Father Victor Polito concelebrating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ft. Johnson, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday March 13, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00P.M. at St. Mary's Church Chapel, 156 East Main St., Amsterdam. Arrangements are under the direction of the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY.
