Obituary of Jennifer Lynn Stock

Johnstown, NY-Jennifer Lynn Stock, age 60, of Johnstown, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday morning, March 9, 2017. She was born in Gloversville on March 1, 1957 daughter of David and Inez Rooney of Gloversville. She was the second eldest of five children and educated in Gloversville schools. She was united in marriage with William D. Stock on July 23, 1977 in Gloversville at St. Mary's Church. Together they had three children, William Stock and wife Melissa of Johnstown, Eric Stock of Saratoga and Jennalynn Knecht and husband Brian of Johnstown. Jennifer is survived by her parents, David and Inez Rooney; mother in law, Louise Stock; brothers, Dan and Michael Rooney; sisters, Linda Rooney and Lisa Sohl; three grandchildren, Noah and Ethan Stock and Brian Knecht as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father in law, Robert Stock. Jennifer learned to cook from her grandmother, Giovanna Albanese and her mother Inez. She continuously prepared meals for her family and world class pies. She brought these skills to work with her during her time operating Tegeos Luncheonette with her sisters, Linda and Lisa. Jennifer loved to shop but above all family was her main hobby and top priority. She was the definition of a mother. She spread love and wisdom not only to those inside her family, but outside as well. Jennifer's life will forever be an example to us all and her love will never be forgotten. The family will receive relatives and friends at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville on Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 10 AM until 2 PM. The funeral will commence also on Sunday at 2 PM from the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. RW Williams, officiating.
