Obituary of Richard K. Francisco

Richard K. Francisco, Sr., 73, of State Hwy 67, Amsterdam, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 17, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Amsterdam February 10, 1936 a son of the late Kenneth and Florence Meyers Francisco. Richard was a life resident of the area and worked for Wards Products in Amsterdam for over 40 years. He served his country with the US ARMY during the Korean War and was an Army Medic in Korea. He was a member of the American Legion Post#701 in Amsterdam and was of Lutheran faith. He was an avid Yankees and Jets fan and very much enjoyed fishing, going to the Racino and spending time with his family who will sadly miss him. His loving family includes the love of his life and mother of his children, Delores Bielecki, his children, Debra Kiskis, Richard K. Francisco, Jr. and wife Mary Ellen, Darlene Ross and Duane Francisco and companion Candi Yager, his sister, Sandi Herdman and husband, Michael, his grandchildren, Sonya Minasi and husband Rocco, Kimberly Barnett and husband Lymon, Richard K. Francisco, III and wife Sara, Angelena Ross, Anthony D. Ross, Jacqueline Jackson, Donald Jackson, Jenney Andrews, Kelly Moniz, Christopher Francisco and Julian Francisco, and his great-grandchildren, Lymon Barnett, Jr., Vittorio and Dominick Barnett, Gabriella Moniz, Cady and Myah Francisco and Madeline Hartmann. Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his son, Darren E. Francisco on June 16, 1981. Services will be at 11:00AM on Wednesday, May 20th at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, with Rev. Cynthia Leonard, officiating. Interment will follow in Hagaman Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends prior to services on Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Contributions in Richard's memory may be made to the American Lung Association or to a charity of one's Choice in care of the funeral home.
