I am so sadden to learn that you're mourning the loss of your dear Michael, and I like to express my sincere condolences. I can see that he touched many lives and was deeply loved by many. Our loving Creator has promised that he will soon "swallow up death forever" and "wipe away the tears from all faces" (Isaiah 25:8). What a joyful time that will be. May your warm memories give you peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Mike and I shared sophomore year at Cornell with Terry and Denny Osika. I remember fondly the good times we shared that year and after, never knowing when or who (usually Mike) would start the break out in song, and we'd trudge together through numerous stanzas in full harmony of "sloop John B" the "Quartermaster Song" other well-shared Collegiate favorites.
It was a good time. We'll share it again.

While I never had Mr. O'D for a science teacher, he still made a wonderful impression on me as a student. Each St Patrick's day he would be dressed totally in green from his head to his foot, including green shoes! He was always joyful and uplifting to be around and showed he cared deeply for all his students. I remember traveling to Frontier Town as part of his Yorkers club. Being now a Math and Science teacher myself, I have in some ways followed in his footprints. Today on this Saint Patrick's Day, I will teach in honor of that wonderful teacher Mr. O' Dockerty.
Sending condolences to his whole family.

Mr O' was a great teacher and one of my fondest memories was running into him during a US Army Reserve training mission at Fort Dix. He was walking with a few officers and I totally broke protocol and ran up to him and screaming, "O-Dock" and we high-fived each other, then I hastily saluted. At least ten years had passed since I had him as a teacher and I was excited to see his familiar, jovial presence during a dismal Army training mission. He was a great teacher, patriot, friend and fine military leader that will be missed. I salute him again right now. -Gary Ell

Mr. O was one of the finest and most caring teachers I ever had throughout my career at FFCS. He genuinely cared about his "kids," not because he was being paid to, but because he thoroughly enjoyed what he did for a living.
It seems only fitting that his passing come close to one of his favorite holidays; hopefully there's some green involved in his memory.
Thank you for caring and helping to guide me through my early years; I owe a debt to you that can never be repaid.
God bless and my prayers are with your family and loved ones during this difficult time.

So many fond memories of Mr. O. He was a wealth of information and enjoyed sharing that knowledge with others. I was fortunate to meet him through the drill and ceremony elective he taught at FFCS. He had us out on the basketball court marching around like soldiers, as we progressed he introduced the rifles. Learning these basic drills with the rifles gave many of us a start for our High School days in colorguard. In later life, I got him involved in teaching basic rifle skills to the Amsterdam Sea Cadets. My younger daughter was fortunate to attend a whale watch with him. When she came home she said that when the whales started to show she was standing by Mr O. She said she learned so much about whales that day from his commentary. He will be sorely missed in our community. My condolences to the family.

Sandra, Charlotte, Michael and Family -
There are no words to express my sadness. You, his family, have lost a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, provider, protector. We, his students, have lost an unforgettable teacher, leader, confidante, supporter.
I'm so glad we were able to reconnect over the past few years. I will miss seeing him in church, at various events or just running into each other while out and about.
He was truly a special part of my life and made me a believer that I could do whatever I was meant to do. He will be very much missed.
Fly with the Angels, Colonel!
Much love,
Linda (Tommy) Werner

Mr. O was the best guy teacher in Fonda school. He always called me pigtail Tilly cause I had really long hair down to my butt and had it in ponytails all the time. Not too long ago well during the last summer when I saw him I introduced him to my youngest son and he told my son about pigtail Tilly. He still called me that. It was never Erika but that's okay. He was the best teacher and friend anyone could ever ask for and have. Rip and he will definitely be missed. His smile always made me smile. He was thoughtful and understanding.. never forget him.
