Obituary of Mary Joyce Ball

Mary Joyce Ball, 83, of Hagaman, NY, has gone to her eternal rest on Wednesday March 15th, 2017, in the comfort of her own home with her family. Born on November 12th, 1933 in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Leonard and Frank Murphy. Mary attended local schools and graduated from Holy Names in Albany, NY. She went on to obtain her associates degree and married the love of her life George Ball shortly after. Mary spent many years employed for Harrah's Casino in Maricopa, AZ managing their accounting and book keeping. She relocated back to this area in 2004 to be closer to her family. Mary was an avid reader who loved to travel and try her luck especially with penny slot machines. She lived a life full of adventure and passion. She was fun loving and very accepting and understanding of others which made her a very easy person to talk to. Her quick wit and comedic personality made her a one of kind gem that was a blessing to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. Mary is survived by her nieces, Kathleen (Marc) Audi, Kim (Adam) Bova, and Joyce (James) Mattice. Many more loving family also survive. Mary is predeceased by her beloved husband George Ball; her parents Margaret and Frank Murphy; her sister Elaine O'Connell; and her nephew Michael O'Connell. Mary will be laid to rest with her husband at Albany Rural Cemetery, Cemetery Avenue, Albany, NY, in the spring. A Memorial Service will take place in the spring at the discretion of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Betz, Rossi, & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
