Obituary of Doris M. Clemens
Mrs. Doris M. Walker Clemens, age 85, of Gloversville, entered into eternal rest on Monday evening, June 1, 2009 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady.
She was born on February 14, 1924 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Edmund and Madeline Baisner Walker. In her younger years she was employed as a knitter at various glove manufacturing shops in the area. She retired after serving many years in the housekeeping department at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville.
Doris was a member of Living Hope Church. She loved her entire family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching wrestling on television.
On December 13, 1947 she married George Clemens who died May 5, 2004. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara J. Kucel Ronald of Gloversville; two sisters, Helen LaVallee of Johnstown and Patricia Lee of Gloversville; two grandchildren, Kathy DeMarco Michael and Ron Kucel Jessi; four great-grandchildren, Bethany DeMarco, Michael DeMarco , Liam Kucel and Lila Kucel; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brothers, George Walker and William Walker and by a sister, June Walker Costantino.
A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, with Pastor Mel Emurian officiating. Cremation will follow at Parkview Crematorium, Schenectady, with final interment at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.
