Obituary of Virginia C. Sahler
Amsterdam, NY-Mrs. Virginia C. "Ginny" Sahler, age 71, of Amsterdam passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at home.
She was born in Manhattan, NY daughter of the late Lois and Cyril Quinn and educated in New York schools and attended St. Mary's School of Nursing, Amsterdam. She was united in marriage with Richard Sahler on Sept. 16, 1967 in Amsterdam, he passed away on Sept. 18, 1983.
Mrs. Sahler was a dedicated employee for St. Mary's Hospital for over 50 years, being employed as an operating room technician and also a scheduling clerk. She loved to paint and camp. Her passion was her family and grandchildren and grand-dog, Haley.
Survivors include her children, two sons, David Sahler and wife Rochelle of Tribes Hill and Steven Sahler of Amsterdam; a great friend, Gary Smith; grandchildren, Amanda, Jessica (Chad), Kristina (Tony), Shayla, Zachariah, Joshuah, Julionna, Alesha, Jonah, Isabella and Gabriella; ten great grandchildren and twin great grandchildren on the way; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a sister Ann Nadler and by a son, Timothy Sahler.
In keeping with Ginny's wishes, there are no public services. Graveside services will take place later in the spring at Fairview Cemetery where burial will take place with her husband and son. Donations in her memory may be sent to American Cancer Society or the Montgomery County SPCA. The family would like to thank New York Oncology Hematology for their kindness and compassion.
