Obituary of Domenica Musillo Goodbred
Domenica "Minnie" Musillo Goodbred, 83, of Moss Street Square, Hudson Falls, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon at her home after a lengthy illness.
Born in Amsterdam on October 14, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Gianbattista and Maria Maddelena Caretta Musillo. She was educated there and in her earlier years was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church where she sang in the choir. She worked at the former Whalen's Drug Store located in Amsterdam. Minnie and her husband later moved to Hudson Falls where they raised their family. She worked in retail sales for the former Robert Hall and Erlanger's stores in Glens Falls. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. After a period of time in Florida, they returned to this area in 2003 to be with family. Minnie was an avid bingo player and a parishioner of St. Mary's / St. Paul's Church in Hudson Falls.
Her loving family includes her husband of sixty two years, Clark J. Goodbred, Sr.; sons, F. Wayne Goodbred of Hudson Falls and Clark J. Dorothy Goodbred, Jr. of Fort Edward; daughters, Sharon R. Goodbred-Sears of Glens Falls, Dominie Thompson of Freeport , Ill., and Roberta Caputo of Glens Falls; grandchildren, Kelly Karl Smith, Stephen O'Sick, Timothy W. Goodbred, Kimberley Scott Sipowicz, Natalie Goodbred, Francesco Leigh Caputo, Christopher Caputo, Elisa Daniel Tousignant, Domenica "Nikki" Thompson and Roberta Thompson; ten great grandchildren; her sister, Edith Marvin Cohen of Clifton Park and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers John, Carmen and William Musillo and sisters Margaret Chirico, Antoinette Martin and infant sister Eda.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Amsterdam with Fr. Lawrence J. Decker, celebrant. Interment will follow in the family plot in St. Michael's Cemetery. It was Minnie's request that there be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Shrine of North American Martyrs at Auriesville or to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church both in care of the funeral home office. Minnie's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of her nephews and staff at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam.
