Obituary of Barbara K. Sanford

Town of Mohawk/Montgomery County Barbara K. Sanford, 59, of Plantz Road, Johnstown, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 13, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. She was born in Johnson City, NY January 6, 1950 a daughter of the late Kenneth and Clarabelle Davis Kintner. Barbara was a 1968 graduate of Johnson City High School and a 1970 graduate of SUNY Cobleskill. She previously worked at Central National Bank in Canajoharie, the Cherry Valley Animal Hospital, SUNY Cobleskill and the NYS Retired Teachers Assoc. She most recently worked in Personnel at the NYS Lottery in Schenectady, retiring in February of 2009. She married David W. Sanford of Ft. Plain on February 20, 1971. She was a member of the Airedale-Terrier Club and enjoyed breeding and raising dogs and traveling with her husband. Her loving family includes her husband of over 38 years, David W. Sanford of Johnstown, her sister Carol Kocak and husband Paul of Port Dick, NY and her brother Kenneth Kintner, Jr. and wife Nancy of North Carolina. Several nieces and nephews also survive her. Barbara's family wishes to thank Dr. Rund and Wanda of Schenectady Cardiology, Dr. Goslin and staff at NYOH, the staff of Maria Hall at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam and everyone at Arnold's Feed for all of their care and support. Graveside Services will be at 1:00PM on Saturday, June 20th at Vestal Hills Memorial Park, 3997 Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850. Contributions in Barbara's memory may be made to Mt. Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave., Gloversville, NY 12078 or to a Charity of one's choice.
