Obituary of Louis F. Fallova
Louis F. Fallova Sr. , 84, of Amsterdam, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning at St. Mary's Hospital.
Born in Amsterdam on Feb. 25, 1925, he was the son of the late Patsy and Philomena Zullo Fallova and was educated locally.
He was employed for the federal Government at the Watervliet Arsenal and the Naval and Army Supply Depots in Scotia until 1958. He retired in 1986 from the Montgomery County maintenance department.
Lou loved traveling, he and his wife visited many states in this country. In recent years, he enjoyed racino and was an avid Yankees fan. He could always be found in his beloved garden, which he shared with family and friends.
During World War II, he proudly served with the US Army as a military policeman.
He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church.
On August 25, 1944, he was united in marriage to the former Dorothy Millstead. She predeceased him on March 6, 2007. He also lost an infant daughter Dottie Mae in 1946.
His loving family includes his children; Linda and her husband Richard Brancato of Rexford, NY, Salvatore M. Fallova of Clifton Park and Louis F. Jr. and his wife Angela Fallova of Mayfield; two grandsons; Shawn and Salvatore Fallova ; and many nieces and nephews.
Lou will truly be missed.
Services are Friday at 10:15 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass Of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Church. Fr. John Medwid, celebrant. Interment with military honors is in Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel Cemetery. A calling period will commence at 9:15 am, prior to the funeral on Friday. Contributions may be made to St. Mary's R.C. Church in care of the funeral home office.
