Obituary of Shirley Lasher

Shirley Lasher 72, of Elizabeth Street, passed away Friday morning at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. Born January 9, 1937 in Corinth, NY she was the daughter of the late Harry and Frances Scoville Ladd. Shirley was a graduate of Lake Luzerne High School. She moved to Amsterdam in 1967. She was self employed as a Tax Preparer, worked at HASBRO and also worked for the Sheriffs Association Fund Raising services. Shirley loved being a homemaker, spending time with her family, grandchildren and her two best friends Grace and Dee. On July 16, 1966 Shirley married Harold A. Lasher Jr. who passed away November 9, 1998. She was also predeceased by a brother Richard Ladd. Survivors include her loving family, three sons, John Denino, Joseph Denino Tina and Harold Lasher III Tammy all of Amsterdam; a daughter Susan Kellogg Joseph Sr. of Amsterdam; seven brothers, Charlie Ladd of Schenectady, George Ladd of the Town of Day, Harry Ladd of Allentown, Jake Ladd of Richmondville, Robert Ladd of Lake Luzerne, Ronnie Ladd and Andy Ladd of the Town of Day; three sisters, Joyce Mindez of Utica, Alice Ladd of the Town of Day and Beverly Birch of Broadalbin; 25 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY, the Rev. Martin Smith officiating. Burial will take place in the Town of Day Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
