Obituary of Terrence R. Robbins
Warrensburg, NY-Terrence R."Terry" Robbins, age 67, of Warrensburg and a longtime Amsterdam native, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday morning, March 16, 2017.
He was born on March 14, 1950 in Amsterdam, son of the late Richard and Margaret (Shields) Robbins and graduated from Amsterdam High School where Terry was active in the drama club and very involved in the productions. He attended Fulton Montgomery Community College. Terry was united in marriage with Rosetta Salerno on Dec. 19, 1976 in Amsterdam; a blessed union of 40 years. He was last employed with Super Shoes, Lake George as assistant manager, retiring at age 65.
Terry was a very spiritual man and enjoyed singing in the church choir. He was passionate about becoming a minister, starting as a lay speaker at Lake George Methodist Church. He did become a pastor and served at two churches outside of the Warrensburg area.
Survivors include his wife, Rosetta at home; brother, Paul Robbins and wife MaryAnn of Florida; a sister, Francine Fura and Frank of Broadalbin; in laws, Lucy Salerno and the late Joseph of Amsterdam, MaryLou Freis and husband Craig of FL, Michele Walsh and husband Skip of Ft. Johnston, and Joseph Salerno of Amsterdam; several niece, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The family will be present at Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 5-7 p.m., to receive relatives and friends. Terry's funeral will commence at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, with Pastor Stephen Andrews, of Warrensburg United Methodist Church, officiating. Spring interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
