Obituary of Constance C. Hatch
Constance C. "Connie" Hatch, 86, of Sandy Drive, formerly of Fort Johnson, passed away Friday, July 24, 2009, at River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam. She was born in New York City January 11, 1923 a daughter of the late Christian and Margaret Gunsen Ernst.
Connie was raised in England and graduated from high school overseas. Following High School she returned to the United States where she attended and graduated from Colby Junior College in Maine. While attending school, she met Robert Lincoln Hatch of Melrose, MA and the couple married on November 24, 1942.
Connie was known by many for her several years of work as the receptionist in Dr. Pipito's Medical Practice in Amsterdam. She was very instrumental in starting the Montgomery County Teachers MCT Federal Credit Union where she was a Charter Member and was also a member and past Treasurer of the North Broadalbin Beach Club.
Her loving family includes her two sons, Peter L. Hatch of Washington and Jonathan E. Hatch of Cobleskill, her five daughters, Judith A. Robelotto of California, Pamela S. Hanson of Tribes Hill, Candace Martuscello of Fort Johnson, Emily J. Bliss of North Carolina and Wendy Sullivan of Fonda, and her brother, Franklin Ernst of England. 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
In addition to her parents, Connie was predeceased by an infant son, Timothy Hatch, her sister, Eleanor McQuade and her husband, Robert L. Hatch.
Services will be at 2:00PM on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam with Rev. William T. Hodgetts, Jr., officiating. Contributions in Connie's memory may be made to Amsterdam Free Library, 28 Church St., Amsterdam, NY 12010 or to Community Hospice of Amsterdam, 246 Manny's Corners Road, Amsterdam, NY. Arrangements have been entrusted to Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, NY.
