Obituary of Kenneth Salvione
Kenneth Salvione, 60, passed away peacefully Friday, July 31, 2009 with his family at his side. He was born October 25, 1948 in Gloversville, the son of the late Victor and Ethal Hollenbeck Salvione.
He was employed by Cranesville Block in Albany where he worked as a truck driver and union representative.
He married the former Shirley Ward, who survives, February 14, 1969. They enjoyed forty years of marriage together. In addition to his beloved wife, survivors include four daughters: Karen Salvione of Gloversville, Michelle Buckley Jim of Mayfield, Raydeen Iannatti Scott of Johnstown and Terri Salvione of Gloversville; ten grandchildren: Kayla, Danielle, Kirsten, James Jr., Corey, Nicole, Shay, Samantha, Devin and Kadin; two great grandchildren: Aubre and Emmalee; one brother, Ted Salvione; one sister, Frances Watson; an uncle, Vincent Salvione; an aunt, Frances Hollenbeck and several loyal, close friends including his childhood best friend, Jim Brockhum. Ken was predeceased by a brother, Victor "Skip" Salvione.
Kenneth enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of both the Gloversville Moose and the Teamsters. He was of the Protestant faith.
Family and friends are invited and may call Monday, August 3 at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street from 4 to 6 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. with the Reverend Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. Cremation will take place at the Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvione family to assist with funeral costs.
