Obituary of Mary A. Osowicki

Mary A. Osowicki, 93, of Taft Place, Amsterdam, passed away Wednesday August 12, 2009 at her home. Born in Whitehall NY on May 10, 1916, a daughter of Joseph and Angela Bagnacelli Marcino. She moved to Amsterdam, NY in 1946 and has lived here since. Mary worked for many years as a clerk and switchboard operator at the former Holzhiemer and Shaul Clothing and Department Store in Amsterdam before retiring in 1976. She was a communicant of the former St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. She married Leo S. Osowicki on February 3, 1946. He died on March 9, 1987. Survivors include on son, Robert L. Osowicki of Amsterdam. Two sisters, Esther Ross of Whitehall, NY and Ann Soothcage of Glens Falls NY. One brother Joseph Marcino of Whitehall, NY and a grandson Nicholas Osowicki. Nieces and Nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her sister Rose Ross and brother Emilio Marcino. Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 22nd, 2009 at 10:30AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00A.M. at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, Cornell St., Amsterdam with Father Stanislaus Swierzowski presiding. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ft. Johnson, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday August 22, 2009 from 9:30 to 10:30Am at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a Charity of one's choice c/o the funeral home.
