Obituary of Genevieve Maryzak

Genevieve "Jean" Maryzak, 85, formerly of Cochrane Avenue passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at the E.L. Wilkinson Residential Heath Care Facility in Amsterdam. She was born in Amsterdam December 8, 1923 and was a lifelong resident of the area. Jean attended schools in Amsterdam and worked for Collette Manufacturing for many years. She enjoyed listening to music, especially polkas, and was very proud of her Polish heritage. She also enjoyed outdoor activities such as walking and bicycling and was an avid New York Yankees fan. Her loving family includes her son David Maryzak and his wife Claudia of Amsterdam and her grandson Eric Maryzak and his wife Aimee of Clifton Park. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Michael Maryzak on March 13, 2004. Prayer Services will be at 10:15AM on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY with the Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00AM at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, Reid St., Amsterdam with Fr. David Wm. Mickiewicz as celebrant. Interment will follow the mass in St. Stanislaus Cemetery on Steadwell Avenue in Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends Friday this evening from 5:00 to 7:00PM at the funeral home.
