Obituary of Joan M. Loveday
Gloversville, NY-Joan M. Bellen Loveday, age 77, passed away on March 17, 2017 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville. She had the love and support of her family by her side at the time of her passing.
Joan was born on November 14, 1939 in Gloversville to the late Forest and Melba (Darling) Bellen and grew up on Jackson Summit in Mayfield. She graduated from Mayfield Central School in 1958. She was a graduate of HFM BOCES licensed practical nurse program in 1978 and a graduate of Fulton Montgomery Community College registered nurse program in 1984.
Mrs. Loveday worked in several physician offices, for St. Mary's Hospital, the Fulton County Nursing Service and the former Fulton County Infirmary. She was a member of the Mayfield Presbyterian Church and served as president of the Fulton County Historical Society and museum for six years where she was a long time member and board member.
In 1990, she married William Loveday who survives her. She is survived by her children, Gail Hunter of Gloversville and David Ardizzone of Arkansas; three step children, Terry, Cathy and William Loveday; one grandchild, Elizabeth Hunter of Gloversville; several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Ossenfort.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a memorial service commencing at 1 pm on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Mayfield Presbyterian Church, 22 N. Main St., Mayfield, NY 12117. There are no calling hours. Joan's cremains will be buried in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville, privately. In lieu of floral offerings, donations can be made to the Fulton County Historical Society and Museum, PO Box 711, Gloversville, NY 12078.
