Obituary of Lena Corradina Marziano Czech

Lena Corradina Marziano Czech, 89, of the Roosevelt Apartments, passed away early Saturday morning at the River Ridge Living Center after a brief illness. Born on January 1, 1920 in Avilla, Sicily, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Mario and Severia Falbo Marziano. She came to America at any early age, first settling in Johnstown. For the past seventy years, Lena has resided in Amsterdam. She worked for a number of years as a seamstress for the former Hanover Dress Shop. She was a longtime communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. On September 5, 1937 she was united in marriage to John Czech. He predeceased her on Feb. 2, 1998. She also lost her son, David Czech on Sept. 30, 1966. Her loving family includes her sons; John P. Czech of Corinth, and Paul M. Czech of Amsterdam; grandsons; James Czech of Elmira and Ryan Czech of Amsterdam; a great granddaughter; Olivia Czech; her sister; Grace Marziano Conti of Las Vegas, NY; as well as many dear nieces, nephews, and God children. Services are Tuesday at 10:15 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass Of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Church. Fr. John Medwid, celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus' Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in her name to St. Mary's Church in care of the funeral home office.
