Obituary of Richard R. Roten
Mr. Richard R. "Nate" Roten, age 59, of Gloversville, died Tuesday morning, September 15, 2009 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, following a brief illness
He was born October 5, 1949 in Gloversville, and was a 1968 graduate of Mayfield Central School. He served in the US Air Force from 1969 to 1973 and was stationed in Korea at one time.
Nate was employed at Dal's Hollow Body Works in Johnstown for many years. He was a member of Concordia Club and Foresters Club.
He is survived by his mother, Marie Cameron Roten Fisher of Gloversville; a brother, Harry C. Roten Rosalyn of Gloversville; nieces, Ashleigh Blackwood Channing and Kimberly Carter Mike, grand niece, Taryn Carter and grand nephew, Mason Carter, all of North Carolina; a nephew, Mark Roten Patti, a grand nephew, Cameron Roten, all of Johnstown; and a grand niece, Bethanne Gifford Gary of Queensbury. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomps Roten.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, September 17 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a funeral service will follow at 6:30 p.m. with the Rev. Cynthia J. VanAllen officiating. Cremation will follow at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the charity of your choice.
