Obituary of Barbara C. Railine

Barbara C. Railine, 74, of Reed Hill Road passed away peacefully Sunday, September 20, 2009 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born June 6, 1935 in Berlin, NY and was one of eight children born to the late Reuben and Emeline Taylor Cook. Barbara grew up in the Berlin area and attended high school in Troy. She married Gene L. Railine of Colonie on September 23, 1961. The couple spent many years living in West Berne and in Rotterdam before moving to Fultonville in recent years. Family always came first in Barbara's life. Her fondest years were those spent raising her four children. She also loved gardening and had a passion and special talent for cooking. In more recent years she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandson, all whom she adored. Her loving family includes her husband of 48 years, Gene L. Railine of Fultonville, her son Lester "Les" Railine of Delanson, her daughters Cindy Railine Carlos Dolbec of Bealeton, VA, Barbara Jeanne Richard Poirier of Glenville and Laura Railine Harley Stefaniak of Schenectady, her grandchildren, Jessica Railine, Samantha Railine, Caitlin Stefaniak, Acacia Poirier, Shaman Railine, Sapphire Stefaniak, Cassie Stefaniak, Genevieve Poirier and Emilee Railine, and her great-grandson Nicholas Wroblewski. Services will be private at the convenience of Barbara's family. Contributions in her memory may be made to Mt. Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078. Arrangements have been entrusted to Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St., Fultonville, NY.
