Obituary of Cecilia B. Boccio

Cecilia B. Boccio, 84, of County Hwy 107, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon at Ellis Hospital with her loving family at her side. Born in Amsterdam on March 28, 1925, the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine Lewandowski. A lifelong resident, she attended local schools. Ceil was employed by the Naval Supply Depot in Scotia during World War II, and later by Ward Products, Mohasco and Bay Shore. She will lovingly be remembered as a wonderful home maker, and excelled in cooking both Polish and Italian food. Ceil loved spending time in her garden where she grew vegetables and flowers with her "green thumb". She was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. On May 5, 1951, she was united in marriage to Nicholas P. Boccio. In addition to her beloved husband, she leaves her daughters; Deborah Giardino of Perth, Patricia Boccio of Decatur, Al., and Michele Tom Dootz of Feura Bush, NY; grandchildren; Matthew Giardino, Jennifer Brian Lemon and Xavier Aki Orengo, Nicole and Stephanie Dootz; great-grandsons; Nicholas and Christopher; siblings; Mary "Marion" Dolfax of Hudson, Joan Splawnik , Vernice "Pat" Pieniazek , Edward Levendoski, and Bernice Schotts all of Amsterdam; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings; Helena, Frank Jr., Stanislaw, Clarence, Sophie, Joseph, Wladyslaw Lewandowski and Anna Hazzard. Services are Saturday at 10:00 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass Of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Church. Fr. John Medwid, celebrant. Interment will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Calling hours are today from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in her name to St. Mary's Church, the National Kidney Foundation or the Perth Volunteer Fire Dept., all in care of the funeral home office.
