Obituary of Josephine J. Moskal
Mrs. Josephine Moskal, 89, formerly of Sloane Avenue, died peacefully Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the Edward L. Wilkinson Skilled Nursing Facility. Born on September 2, 1920 she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine Lauricella Palamara.
A lifelong city resident, Josephine was educated in city schools and was employed by Ward Products until her retirement. She was of the Roman Catholic faith and was a devout parishioner of the former St. Michael the Archangel Church and was also a member of community seniors. Although she had no children of her own, Josephine loved her nieces and nephews. Her faith was important to her, but her love for her family was her inspiration. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Josephine was predeceased by her husband, Casimir Moskal and her siblings Rose LaBate, Ernestine Pozniak, Lena Marvin and Martin Palamara. She is survived by her sister, Jennie Belardi; several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 11:15 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, St. John Street, Amsterdam with the Rev. Lawrence Decker as celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited and may call from 10:15 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church, prior to the Mass. A Procession will then follow to St. Stanislaus' Cemetery for burial, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Wilkinson Activity Fund in care of the funeral home office.
