Obituary of Jacob O. Krohn
Jacob O. "Jack" Krohn, 84, of Jackson Vly Road, passed away Friday morning at his home.
Born in Charleston, New York on August 8, 1925, he was the son of the late Herman and Flora Marks Krohn. Jack was first employed for twenty-one years by Mohasco Industries and later as a heavy equipment operator for Lewis Construction Company until he retired. Jack enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping and gardening, and until the age of eighty three, he was still splitting wood. He also loved to play cards and visit the casinos. Jack loved spending time with his family and spoiling his granddaughters.
On June 28, 1945, he was united in marriage to the former Alice Sherman. In addition to his beloved wife of sixty four years, he leaves his daughter; Debra and her husband Robert Wells of Broadalbin; two granddaughters; Melissa Cornell and her husband Jeffrey of Johnstown, and Megan Wells and her friend Bryon Bradshaw of Amsterdam; a sister; Mary Phillips of Pattersonville; a brother; Carl Krohn of Amsterdam; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held Monday at 10:00 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. Interment will follow in the Galway Village Cemetery . Calling hours are Sunday from 2-5 pm at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made in his memory to a charity of one's choice.
