Obituary of Robert C. Romaine

Robert C. Romaine, age 68, of Johnstown, passed away on Monday October 5, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. Bob was born in Gloversville on November 30, 1940 the son of the late William H. and Laura M. Travis Romaine. He was educated in the Gloversville School District. He loved the New York Yankees. Bob also liked to go fishing, hunting and enjoyed being outdoors. He enjoyed family picnics and the holidays. Bob was never the one to forget a birthday. The most important thing in Bob's life was his family. He was known to be an "all around good guy". He will be missed by all who knew him. Bob is survived by 11 siblings, including six sisters: Evelyn Dutcher of Gloversville, Josephine Ward Fred of Gloversville, Laura Dutcher of Gloversville, Ella Smith and her companion Richard Quant of Gloversville, Beverly Colby of Gloversville, and Ethel Meher of Florida; and five brothers: William Romaine Kathy of Gloversville, Walter Romaine Florence of Amsterdam, James Romaine of Gloversville, John Romaine Frances of Gloversville, and Steven Romaine of Gloversville. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. In addition to his parents, Bob was also preceded in death by a brother: Richard Romaine, and by his brothers-in-law Leonard Dutcher Sr., and Delbert "Babe" Meher, and two nephews Donald Colby Jr. and Keith Dutcher II There will be no calling hours or services. Cremation will take place at Parkview Crematorium in Schenectady. Arrangement have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home; 51 Fremont Street; Gloversville.
