Obituary of Phyllis Ann Ropeter

Phyllis Ann Ropeter, 81, of Gloversville, NY, was called home from this life on Friday, February 23rd, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 12th, 1936, in Gloversville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Lawrence and George Guy. Phyllis graduated from Broadalbin High School Class of 1954. She married the love of her life Floyd "Sonny" Ropeter on April 7th, 1962. It was a strong and incredible union that lasted until his passing on February 8th, 1966. Phyllis held jobs at various companies before becoming a seamstress for the former Johnstown knitting inc. She earned her retirement from there in 1996 and looked forward to the freedom retirement would give her to spend more time with those she loved most. Phyllis loved playing cards, she loved camping and going on picnics with her family. She especially loved spending time with her great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her fun loving, and caring nature. Phyllis truly was a strong-willed and independent woman who will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family. Phyllis is survived by her son, Kyle (Briana) Ropeter; her daughters, Nancy (Bill) Pettit, and Candy Ropeter; her grandchildren, Amy Pettit, and Billy Pettit; her great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Pettit, McKayla Blanchard, Kyler Pettit, and Isabelle Pettit; and her nephew, Frank guy. As well as many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Phyllis is predeceased by her husband Sonny; and her dear parents, George and Margaret Phyllis will be laid to rest by her beloved husband at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown, NY.
