Howard was always special to me from the first time he rocked me on a swing, and told me how much he loved me. Over the years his words stuck in me, because I knew in my heart he meant every word he said, and I was special to him. I knew that he loved with an unconditional love that was a reflection of God himself and I could be myself around him flaws and all, and Howard would still truly love me like a dad. That was 40 years ago that Howard told me those words and now as I told my 19 year old daughter that Howard had died her words to me were "Mom he was like a grandpa to me. He told me right away he loved me and I knew he meant it" Howard had a love for people that radiated through his eyes and was felt by his hugs.
