Obituary of Agnes M. Fish
Agnes M. Hernigle Fish, 95, of Van Epps Road in the Town of Glen passed away peacefully Thursday, October 8, 2009 at her home. She was born January 9, 1914 in Pulaski, IN a daughter of the late Frank and Antonia A. Minarik Hernigle.
Agnes was a lifelong resident of the area having moved here from Indiana as a child with her family and was a graduate of Fonda-Fultonville High School. She married William J. Fish of Fultonville on June 26, 1943 at St. Joseph's Cathedral in San Diego. He predeceased her on May 19, 2007 after nearly 64 years of marriage.
Agnes was a loving home maker and mother who enjoyed caring for her family. She was a parishioner of St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church in Fonda where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and was a member of the VFW Post #562 Auxiliary.
Her loving family includes her son, Eugene "Gene" Fish, Missing Person since 2004, members of her extended Hernigle family, several nieces and nephews and many friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Agnes was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Sutch and Frances Fiala, and her brothers Edward, John, Joseph and Eugene Hernigle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church, Broadway in Fonda with Fr. Patrick Gallagher, OFM, Conv. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
The family will receive relatives and friends Friday evening tonight from 5:00 to 7:00PM at Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY.
