Obituary of Michael J. Vaiuso

Mr. Michael J. Vaiuso, 78, of Coolidge Rd., Amsterdam passed away peacefully Friday October 16, 2009 at the E.L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam. Born in Amsterdam, NY on July 22, 1931, a son of Michael B. and Josephine S. Alikonis Vaiuso. He was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and attended local schools. Michael was a graduate of Amsterdam High School and later the former Amsterdam School of Commerce. He was employed for many years as an office worker for the former Olbrycht's Dairy and the Capital District Dairy in Albany, NY. He was a railroad enthusiast and enjoyed watching trains and building model railroads. Mr. Vaiuso was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. Michael is survived by his sister, Dolores "Dee" Vaiuso of Amsterdam. Many cousins and friends also survive. He was predeceased by his father Michael B. Vaiuso and most recently his mother, Josephine S. Vaiuso. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday October 19th, 2009 at 11:00A.M. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, East Main St., Amsterdam with Father John Medwid as celebrant. Interment will be in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday October 19th, 2009 from 9:00AM to 10:30A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church or to the Montgomery County S.P.C.A.
