Obituary of Maryellen Martin Esq.

Maryellen Martin, Esq., 73, of Broadalbin passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Guilderland where she resided for therapy. Born August 6, 1943 in Brooklyn, New York she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary "Grace" Donovan Gannon. Maryellen attended the highly regarded Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City receiving her Juris Doctor (J.D.). During her time at the university, Maryellen made many lifetime friends and professional colleagues who will miss her dearly. Survivors include her son James "Jay" Martin (Chelsey); daughter Tracey Ann Martin and grandchildren James H. Martin and Hayley Marie Martin. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Lt. Col. James Joseph Martin (U.S. Army, ret.) who passed away on February 14, 2017. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Maryellen will be laid to rest next to her husband James at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Maryellen's memory to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
