Obituary of Anne F. Kazilas
Anne F. Kazilas 90, formerly of Fort Johnson, passed away peacefully Friday morning at the River Ridge Living Center LLC .
Born in Amsterdam on July 26, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Stanulis Rachis and a graduate of Amsterdam High School. She was a lifelong resident and worked as a sales associate for the former W.T. Grant Store and later K-Mart where she retired in 1985. Anne was a lifelong parishioner of the former St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church. She was proud of her Lithuanian heritage, and lovingly passed it down to her grandchildren.
Anne was predeceased by her husband, William B. Kazilas in 1996, and by her daughter Christine Kazilas in 1962. She also lost her brothers; Ben Rocher and Peter Raczes.
She leaves her son William D. Kazilas of Broadalbin; grandchildren; Christopher and Krista Kazilas of Fort Plain; as well as nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass which will be offered Tuesday at 9:15 am at St. Mary's Church, 156 East Main Street. Fr. Victor Polito, celebrant. Interment is in St. Casimir's Cemetery.
At Anne's request there are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Leukemia Society of America, in care of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, to whom her family has entrusted her care.
