Obituary of June Goss

June Goss, 84, of Garden St., Amsterdam, passed away Monday morning November 2, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam following a brief illness. Born in Amsterdam, NY on June 24, 1925 a daughter of Arthur and Irene King Porath. She was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and attended local schools. Mrs. Goss was a homemaker all of her life. She was a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Amsterdam. She married Arthur George Goss who passed away in 1999. Survivors include one son, George Goss of Amsterdam. Three daughters, Deborah Bruce Van Buren of Amsterdam, Cheryl Goss Mike Faboskay of Amsterdam, and Ida Brown of Amsterdam. Two brothers, Oscar and Robert Porath. One sister, Shirley Marks. Two close friends, Miriam Arocho and Diana Bullock. A special friend, Linda Gieseler. Twenty Four Grandchildren and Thirty Six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was predeceased by three daughters, June Miles, Patience Zea and Barbara Faboskay. Funeral Services will be held on Friday November 6, 2009 at 1:00P.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with the Rev. Dr. John A. Califano presiding. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam, NY. Calling hours are one hour prior to the service on Frdiay begining at 12:00 Noon.
