Obituary of Vincent J. LaConte

Mr. Vincent J. LaConte, 59, of Dunnellon, Florida and formerly a resident of Amsterdam, NY, passed away Wednesday November 11, 2009. Born in Amsterdam, NY on September 24, 1950 a son of Joseph and Rose Timpani LaConte. He was raised in Amsterdam and was a 1969 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam. . Vincent was a Veteran of the Army National Guard. He received his Associates Degree from the RCA Institute of America in New York City, NY. Mr. LaConte was employed for over 25 years for Verizon in Amsterdam before retiring. In 2000 he moved to Ocala, Florida and later to Dunnellon, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Rose LaConte and his son Vincent LaConte Jr. Survivors include his wife Kathleen LaConte of Dunnellon, FL. Three children, Kristin Martin and her husband James of Amsterdam, NY, Michael G. LaConte and his wife Jennifer of Newbern, North Carolina, Derek LaConte of Ocala, FL. Three Brothers, Ronald LaConte of Schenectady, NY. Robert and Jennifer LaConte of Amsterdam and Joseph and Sue LaConte also of Amsterdam, NY. Four loving grandchildren, Margaret Martin of Amsterdam, Alex J. LaConte and Gabriel LaConte of Newbern, North Carolina and Zachary M. LaConte of Amsterdam. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. A Funeral Mass was held on Monday November 16, 2009 at 8:15AM at the Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church in Dunnellon, Florida. The family will receive realtives and friends on Monday November 23, 2009 from 4:00-7:00PM at their home at 9 Hawk St. Amsterdam where a prayer service will be held at 6:00PM with Father Brian List presiding.
