Obituary of Angelina J. Fondacaro
Mrs. Angelina J. Fondacaro, 90, of McClellan Avenue, died peacefully on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Ellis Hospital with her family by her side.
A lifelong area resident, Angelina was born on November 13, 1926 in Amsterdam, NY the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Castelessi LaConte. She attended local schools and was of the Catholic faith. She worked for nearly 30 years as a seamstress for Mohawk Sportswear and was a homemaker. She enjoyed bowling in various leagues and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Salvatore S. Fondacaro; her siblings, Joseph LaConte, Salvatore LaConte, Vincent LaConte, Thomas LaConte and Theresa Testa.
Survivors include her children, Joseph J. Fondacaro and his wife Samantha and Cheri Niemczyk and her husband Bob; two sisters, Mary Dlugolecki and Josephine Bracchi; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 11 o'clock at St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church, Pawling Street, Hagaman with the Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis as celebrant. Burial will take place in St. Michael's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday evening from 4 until 7p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam.
