Obituary of Louis Handy

Louis Handy, age 61 of Mayfield, passed away on Saturday December 26, 2009 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Gloversville, NY on February 3, 1948 the son of the late Harlan and Betty VanNostrand Handy. Louis worked for several of the local glove factories for many years, most notably Grandoe. Louis enjoyed riding his motorcycle and loved his garden. He is survived by his three children: Rebecca Pitcher Edward of Gloversville, Candy Hart Christopher of the Town of Providence and Randy Handy of Perth; six grandchildren: Tricia, Jessie, Kayla, C.J., Brian, Andrew and two great grandchildren: Emmett and Ava-Lynne. Additional survivors include a longtime companion, Linda Wadsworth as well as six brothers: Donald Handy, Timothy Handy, Harlan "Duff" Handy, David Handy, Aaron Handy and Billy Handy. Friends and relatives are invited and may call from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday December 30, 2009 at the Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home; 85 West Main Street; Broadalbin. Immediately following the visitation there will be a memorial service with the Rev. Kathy Reese officiating.
