Obituary of Rose Johnson
Rose Johnson, age 83, of Gloversville passed away on Saturday December 26, 2009 at the Wells Nursing Home in Johnstown.
She was born in Amsterdam, NY on December 30, 1925 the daughter of the late Emilio and Melina Vita Caldaroni-Colabello.
She was of the Catholic faith and was a parishioner of the former St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church.
Rose worked locally for Vertucci Glove shop in Gloversville for over 40 years.
She enjoyed walking and loved to cook. Rose was also a member of several area bowling leagues at Kobuskie Lanes as well as Perry Lanes.
Rose is survived by a son, John Johnson and a daughter Victoria Johnson; a brother Vito Caldaroni and two sisters: Norina Colabello and Linda Colabello; five grandchildren: Eric, Brian, Jarrod Sr., Abigail, Reagan and three great grandchildren: Emma, Jarrod Jr. and Jayliannah.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband Roland Johnson; a daughter Karen Greathouse-Pancoast; and four brothers: Emilio Colabello, Philip Caldaroni, Gino Colabello and Frank Colabello.
Calling hours will be private and held at the convenience of the family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on December 30, 2009 at the Church of the Holy Spirit with the Very Rev. Donald Czelusniak officiating. Interment will take place in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown in the spring. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in memory of Rose to the Wells Nursing Home, Activities Department, 201 West Madison Avenue, Johnstown, NY 12095 or to the Community Health Center, 2 West Main Street, Johnstown, NY 12095.
