Obituary of Betty Pedersen
Mrs. Betty Pedersen, 83 years old, of Lindsay Street, died Sunday at Wilkinson Health Care Facility where she had been a patient for the past few days.
Mrs. Pedersen was born February 18, 1926 in Brooklyn and was a graduate of Ft. Hamilton High School in Bayridge. She also completed courses at Hudson Valley C. C. as a dental assistant. Mrs. Pedersen worked as a Page Girl for New York Bank and then work for American Machine and Foundry, both in NYC. She worked for Pittsburg Paint and Glass in Springfield, Massachusetts and then for Dr. Szupula as a dental assistant after moving to Amsterdam. Mrs. Pederson had been in Amsterdam for the past 50 years. She was a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church and its Choir, a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Amsterdam Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Mohawk Valley Chorus. Mrs. Pedersen enjoyed knitting and needlepoint. Her love of the outdoors included skiing and boating.
Mrs. Pedersen is survived by her husband, Charles S. Pedersen whom she married April 6, 1947.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Wednesday, at St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church, with The Rev. John Califano officiating. Burial will take place in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Ashland, New York. Calling hours will take place on Tuesday from 4 until 7:00pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam.
