Obituary of Robert Venner

Robert Venner, 91 of Gloversville, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility. He was born in Gloversville on August 4, 1918 the son of the late Arther and Hazel Thorne Venner and was a winter resident of Vero Beach, Fl. Mr. Venner served his country proudly in the United States Air Force where he attained the rank of Master Sergeant. Bob served in the 27th Photographic Reconnaissance Squadron in both England and France, remaining a group member for over sixty years. Robert enjoyed gardening and was an excellent photographer, despite his blindness. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Doris Wheeler, in 2006. Survivors include two nieces: Karen Ekonomou of Vero Beach, Fl. and Debra Greene of Bossvale, NY and a nephew, Bruce Wheeler of Camden, NY. A Rememberance will be held during Sunday service on January 10, 2010 at the Mayfield United Methodist Church in New York with Pastor Jerry Oliver. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Robert's name to a charity of your choice.
