Obituary of Marion Kristie

Marion Kadzis Kristie, 92, of 18 Nealy St., Liberty, South Carolina, passed away peacefully Thursday at Baptist Hospital in Easley, South Carolina. Born in Amsterdam, New York, she was a daughter of the late George and Agatha Kadzis. She was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pickens, South Carolina, and loved to garden, sew and cook. Mrs. Kristie is survived by her husband of 71 years, Walter J. Kristie; two sons: Gerald Mary Lou Kristie of Amsterdam, and Wayne Kristie of Easley; two sisters: Mildred Whelly and Frances DiBartolomeo, both of Amsterdam; four grandchildren: Brendon Kristie of Delmar, Brad Kristie of Amsterdam, Elizabeth Scott Fecteau of Portland, CT, and Alison Paul Ciarlante of Salt Point, NY; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Marion was predeceased by brothers William Kodges and Joseph Kadzis, and sisters Anna Hunt, her twin, and Helen Dylong. Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 9 at 1 p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam. Interment will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Kristie was held Wednesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pickens.
