Obituary of Rose Kobuskie

Rose Kobuskie, age 82, of Gloversville passed away on Monday January 4, 2010 at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility in Gloversville. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 29, 1927 the daughter of the late Owen and Madeline Fevola Knapp. Rose was educated in the Mayfield Central School District. She was of the Catholic faith and was a parishioner of the former St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church in Gloversville. On September 7, 1947 Rose was united in marriage to Victor Kobuskie. They shared 17 years together, until his passing on December 18, 1964. Rose was an avid bowler and golfer. She was a member of the women's bowling league. She was also an excellent seamstress. Additionally, Rose volunteered her time with the Fulmont Developmental Agency. She is survived by her three daughters: Janelle Reuter of Johnstown, Genia Meinhold Jim of Wilton, CT and Jamie Barone Joe of Gloversville; five grandchildren: Shannon Entin, Alexandra Tighe, Ryan Barone, Kristopher Barone, Amanda Meinhold and four great grandchildren: Logan and Cassandra Entin and Jack and Eamonn Tighe. Additional survivors include Rose's longtime companion, Charles Neuhaus; two sisters: Lina DeLilli and Elizabeth Masala, as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited and may call on Saturday, January 9, 2010 from 12 Noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home; 51 Fremont Street; Gloversville. A funeral service will be conducted immediately following the conclusion of calling hours at 2:00 p.m. with the Very Rev. Donald Czelusniak officiating. Interment will take place in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Rose to the American Lung Association of NYS; 155 Washington Avenue; Suite 210; Albany, NY 12210 or to a charity of one's choice.
