Obituary of Margaret A. Herdman

Margaret A. Herdman, age 93, of Mayfield, passed away on Saturday January 9, 2010 at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility in Gloversville. She was born in Mayfield, NY on November 27, 1916 the daughter of the late Thomas and Edith Holden Davison. On June 21, 1941 she married Robert Herdman and they shared sixty six years together, until his passing in 2008. Margaret was a member of the Mayfield United Methodist Church. She was an avid knitter and in her younger years enjoyed ceramics. The biggest part of Margaret's life was her grandchildren. Margaret is survived by her two children: Michael Herdman Sandi of Northville, NY and Valerie Warner Barton of Mayfield, NY; two grandchildren: Roxanne Herdman, Jeffrey Warner Paulette and four great grandchildren: Ian, Jaret, Darren and Isabella. Additional survivors include: two twin sisters Anna Gallup and Alice Benedict, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by a sister Betty Lorey and three brothers: Eugene Davison, Kenneth Davison and Harry Davison. Friends and relatives are invited and may call on Monday January 11, 2010 at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home; 51 Fremont Street; Gloversville from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday January 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Bonnie Orth officiating. Interment will be in Union Rural Cemetery, Mayfield in the spring.
